also life long friendships that would otherwise never happen
So true, Howard. Thank you for being one of mine.
Specifically, improvement stories
work life complexity and balance also a challenge
Dates and topics for joint NICQ/iNICQ webinars to be announced.
is EBCD mandatory this cycle?
Hi Monica! It will be optional but also substantially abbreviated and embedded in the early steps of the sequence to achieve change. We are working with the Point of Care Foundation to reduce the time commitment from 6 months down to 6 weeks. We anticipate that teams will complete this in January-February in preparation for the kick-off. Based on the great meeting with you and Jennifer, we would also provide methodology that does not require filming and the permissions associated. Does that help? More details to come. I wanted to make the process available to all teams by decreasing the burden. Our hope is that teams at the NICQ level will engage with this effective but highly abbreviated process.
if we are in the micropremie homeroom, will everyone in the homeroom be working together on the same "transition"?
will we be required to participate in EBCD or is it an option
Will each phased homeroom have their own faculty?
One of the 3 dedicated NICQ faculty is a family advisor, correct?
And for iNICQ, EBCD is also optional, but supported.
The EB of EBCD is can be thought of as a "gap analysis" that will inform the QI (Co-design) work.
and it brings families to the QI work as engaged families
I think this is a bit of challenge, conceptually, maybe because we are used to homeroom topics as concrete choices - but we can roll with this. Carle would love to keep working with some of the centers in current HR.
May seem overwhelming, but is so valuable!
EBCD seems like a must for improvement.
If you pay for NICQ, do you also have to pay for iNICQ to participate?
Speaking from working with iNICQ on critical transitions for the past 1.5 years---what they learned through the drivers or within a phase can be applied to many phases. Resources such as communication, standard tools, etc.
EBCD is essential and foundational to engaging families as true partners in both care and improvement.
For clarification, if you sign up for both iNICQ and NICQ the total cost would be $27500, correct??
Clarification - if joining NICQ it INCLUDES iNICQ and the cost for returning teams would be $20,000.
There was also a credit back to current NICQ teams for this year - will that apply against the 20K if continuing in NICQ?
Thank you, Janine. We are working to add value for NICU teams respecting the financial impact of COVID.
EBCD applies to all practices: I don't know what it is like to be a nurse at the bedside, just as clinical staff don't know what it is like to be a family in the NICU. Why would anyone assume they know what the other experience is like?
For teams that are planning to continue with iNICQ or join iNICQ---your next step is to take part in the upcoming survey, register yourself for iNICQ by 12/1/20, and be thinking if you want to continue with a transition in, out, or hand-off--OR if you want to work within a phase or between 2 phases.
Thanks for the question about the credit to NICQ teams. We are crediting $6,500 to enrolment for next year.
thank you for explaining the choices - this helps a lot for planning.
Thanks for this webinar. Extremely helpful for understanding the options for next year.
I’ve been on zoom all day.
I’m home with my kids ;) Not my best look :)
desktop has no camera!
If we have a regional group with one level III NICU can the SCN at our other hospitals can they join under our membership
That would be great for state worlk
Can you repost the timeline slide?
